Michael A. Rohde (born August 26, 1959 in the USA ) is an American chess player .

At the age of only 17 he achieved the title of International Master (IM) in 1977 and has been Grand Master (GM) since 1988 . In 1991 he won the strong US Open Chess Championship and was ranked among the top twenty chess masters in the USA for the next few years.

In the competition " man against machine " he won both 1989 and 1992 at the Harvard Cup against the best chess computers of their time. In 2007 he won the United States Open Chess Championship (US Open) ex aequo with six other players .
