Dariusz Świercz (born May 31, 1994 in Tarnowskie Góry ) is a Polish chess player who has represented the US Chess Federation since 2018 .
Life
Świercz learned the rules of chess at the age of four and was awarded the title of FIDE Master at the age of eleven . In 2008 he was named International Master and in 2009 he was named Grand Master , making him the youngest Pole to have been awarded this title at the age of 14. He achieved the required standards at the European Championships in Plovdiv in 2008 and at the Akiba Rubinstein Memorial in Polanica-Zdrój in 2008.
Świercz collected trophies in particular in the youth field: In addition to numerous national youth titles in various age categories, his victory at the U20 World Youth Championship in Chennai in 2011 stands out on an international level . In the following year he also won the U18 youth world championship in Maribor .
National team
Świercz represented the Polish national team at the Chess Olympiads in Istanbul in 2012 (+5 = 4 −1) and in Baku in 2016 (+5 = 3 −1) as well as at the European Team Championship in 2013. In 2018 he switched to the US Chess Federation. In March 2019, he competed on the first board of the US national team at the World Team Championship in Astana (+2 = 6 −1).

In the Polish Ekstraliga , Świercz played from 2009 to 2016 for the team of KSz Polonia Votum Wrocław, with whom he was Polish team champion in 2014 . In the German Bundesliga he played for SK Turm Emsdetten from 2011 to 2016 , in the Czech Extra League from 2010 to 2014 for TJ Tatran Litovel and from 2014 to 2016 for AD Mahrla Prague. Świercz entered the French top 12 in 2013 and 2014 with C. E. de Rueil Malmaison. In 2015 he took part in the European Club Cup with the Italian club Club 64 Modena.
