Ekstraliga (chess) 2014
The Ekstraliga (chess) 2014 was the 13th edition of the Ekstraliga and the 70th Polish team championship in chess . The Polish team champion was the team of KSz Polonia Votum Wrocław, which relegated the defending champion WASKO HetMaN Szopienice to second place by half a board point. With the withdrawals of ASSz Miedź Legnica, TKKF Drogowiec Kraków and AZS Politechnika Poznańska-Pocztowiec, four teams from the II liga and Akademia Szachów were from the I liga and Akademia Szachów: KSz Warsaw Sharks Warszawa, GKS Pniówek 74 Pawłowice, MLKS Nadnarwianka Pułtusk and TS Wisła Szachów promoted, as no other I-league teams were interested in promotion. Gliwice, Warszawa and Kraków achieved relegation, while Pułtusk and Pawłowice were relegated directly.

mode
The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and were replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Date and venue
The first three rounds were held from May 16 to 18 in the Voivodeship and City Public Library in memory of Zbigniew Herbert ( Wojewódzka i Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Zbigniewa Herberta ) in Gorzów Wielkopolski , rounds 4 to 6 from May 5 to 7 Played September in the premises of the Polonia Wrocław Chess Club ( Klub Szachowy Polonia Wrocław ) in Wrocław and the last three rounds from October 3rd to 5th in the Bogucice-Zawodzie Municipal House of Culture ( MDK "Bogucice-Zawodzie" ) in Katowice .
