I league (chess) 1982
The I league (chess) 1982 was the 13th edition of the I league and the 38th Polish team championship in chess . The Polish team champion was the team of FKS Avia Świdnik, while the defending champion KS Maraton Warszawa had to be content with sixth place. MKS Start Lublin and BKS Chemik Bydgoszcz were promoted from the II league. Both promoted players achieved relegation, had to relegate KKS Polonia Warszawa and KS Łączność Bydgoszcz.

mode
The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two were relegated to the II league and were replaced by the winners of the two seasons of the II league. The total of the additional points from the Polish youth team championship (25% of the points achieved there, rounded to half points; in case of doubt rounded to whole numbers) and the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a loss), then the number of board points and then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat).
Date and venue
The tournament was played from December 2nd to December 12th in the Culture House of the Port Authority ( Zakładowy Dom Kultury Zarządu Portu ) in Gdynia .
