Ekstraliga (chess) 2010
The Ekstraliga (chess) 2010 was the ninth edition of the Ekstraliga and the 66th Polish team championship in chess . The team from WASKO HetMaN Szopienice was the Polish team champion, while the defending champion KSz Polonia Warszawa had to be content with fourth place. With the withdrawal of PTSz Rynex Płock in the previous year, three teams, KSz Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski, UKS Rotmistrz Twoja Szkoła Grudziądz and AZS WSB Wrocław, rose from the I league. While Gorzów Wielkopolski and Grudziądz achieved relegation, Wrocław had to relegate together with BKS Prokonex Brzeg, and AZS UMCS Lublin withdrew its team.
For the team squad, see Ekstraliga (chess) 2010 team squad .
mode
The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and were replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Date and venue
The tournament was held from September 4th to 12th in the Spodek in Katowice .
