I league (chess) 1984
The I league (chess) 1984 was the 15th edition of the I league and the 40th Polish team championship in chess . The team from WKSz Legion Warszawa was the Polish team champion, while the defending champion KS Maraton Warszawa had to be content with ninth place. GKS Gedania Gdańsk and KKS Hetman Wrocław were promoted from the II league, both of which were relegated directly.

mode
The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two were relegated to the II league and were replaced by the winners of the two seasons of the II league. The total of the additional points from the Polish youth team championship (30% of the points achieved there, rounded to half points) and the number of points on the board (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for one) decided the placement Defeat), then the number of board points and then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat).

The tournament was played in Ustroń-Jaszowiec from October 20th to 31st .
