Ekstraliga (chess) 2008
The Ekstraliga (chess) 2008 was the seventh edition of the Ekstraliga and the 64th Polish team championship in chess . The defending champion WASKO HetMaN Szopienice became the Polish team champion. With the withdrawal of GKSz Polfa Grodzisk Mazowiecki last year, three teams rose from the I league: KSz Polonia Votum Wrocław, LKSz Drakon SKOK Chmielewskiego Lublin and SzKS Zelmer Smak-Eko Górno. While Wrocław achieved relegation, Lublin and Górno had to relegate directly, and JKSz MCKiS Jaworzno and KSz Juvena Hańcza Suwałki withdrew their teams.

mode
The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and were replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).

The tournament was held from September 6th to 14th at the Hotel Admirał in Karpacz .
