Ekstraliga (chess) 2019
The Ekstraliga (chess) 2019 was the 18th edition of the Ekstraliga and the 75th Polish team championship in chess . The champion was the defending champion WASKO HETMAN Katowice, the club Szachowy Silesia Racibórz and Baszta MOS Żnin had been promoted from the I league last year. While Racibórz achieved relegation, Żnin and Biały Król Wisznia Mała had to relegate directly.

mode
The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and will be replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Dates and venues
The first five rounds were played from August 28th to September 2nd at the Arsenal Palace Hotel in Chorzów , the last four rounds were played from September 3rd to 6th at the Voivodeship Office ( Urząd Wojewódzki ) in Katowice .
Season course
The defending champions WASKO HETMAN Katowice and Polonia Votum Wrocław fought a duel for the title, which Katowice only won in the last round, while the relegation decision was made prematurely.
