I league (chess) 1999
The I league (chess) 1999 was the 28th edition of the I league and the 55th Polish team championship in chess . The team from KS Polonia-Animex Warszawa was the Polish team champion, while the defending champion ZKS Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski had to be content with third place. KKSz Gant-Hetman Wrocław, KS MOSiR-Budosak Zabrze, KSz Sido Cafe Hańcza Suwałki and SzKS Hetman Koszalin were promoted from the II league in the previous year. Wrocław, Zabrze and Suwałki achieved relegation, while Koszalin, together with KS Entropia NZS PW Warszawa and KSz Rzemiosło Racibórz, relegated directly. With the withdrawal of Rymer Niedobczyce, the competition was held with eleven teams.

mode
The eleven teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last three placed were relegated to the II league and were replaced by the first and second placed of the two seasons of the II league. The number of points on the board (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).

The tournament was played in Suwałki from September 18th to 28th .
