The Polish team championship in chess in 1952 was the eighth edition of this competition. The team of ZS Kolejarz Warszawa became Polish team champions, while the defending champions ZS Kolejarz Kraków content themselves with fourth place. After the final round was held on eight boards last year (a youth had to be used on the seventh board and a woman on the eighth board), this provision now also applied to the preliminary round.
For the preliminary round in the championships of the voivodeships 24 teams (two each from the voivodships Warsaw , Łódź , Wrocław , Kraków and Katowice , one each from the rest) had qualified. These played a simple round-robin tournament in four groups of six . The four group winners qualified for the final round, which was also held as a simple round-robin tournament. The number of points on the board (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Dates and venue
The preliminary rounds were played between February 10th and March 9th, the final round took place from March 28th to 30th at the Morskie Oko Hotel in Zakopane .
