I league (chess) 1992
The I league (chess) 1992 was the 21st edition of the I league and the 48th Polish team championship in chess . After the two previous championships were held in the Swiss system , they returned to the league mode with promotion and relegation. The team from KS Miedź Legnica was the Polish team champion, while the defending champion ZKS Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski had to be content with fourth place. WKSz Legion Warszawa and KS Kolejarz Katowice (the latter did not appear) went directly to the II league, and after an unsuccessful relegation KS Górnik 09 Mysłowice.

mode
The eleven teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two were relegated to the II league (the team from KS Kolejarz Katowice who did not appear was the first relegated team) and were replaced by the winners of the two seasons of the II league, the ninth and tenth contested the second-placed team in the II league for relegation games Relegation. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Date and venue
The tournament was played from September 20th to 27th in the rest home of the Kunice Glassworks ( Ośrodek Wczasowy Huty Szkła Okiennego Kunice w Żarach ) in Rewal , the relegation competitions took place on November 14th and 15th.
