Michał Krasenkow ( Russian Михаил Владимирович Красенков , scientific transliteration Michail Krasenkov ; born November 14, 1963 in Moscow ) is a Polish chess master of Russian descent.

Career

Krasenkow is a mathematician and has been a Grandmaster of the World Chess Federation FIDE since 1989 . Before he left for Poland in 1992 and took on Polish citizenship in 1996, he won numerous tournaments : Budapest 1989, Vienna 1990, Gausdal 1991, Katowice 1992, Moscow ( Tal Memorial) 1992, Metz 1993, Pardubice 1993 and 1994, Las Palmas 1993 , Stockholm ( Rilton Cup ) 1994/1995 and 1995/1996.

After Krasenkow became a naturalized Pole, he won the Polish championship in 2000 and 2002. With the Polish team he participated in the Chess Olympiads in 1996 , 1998 , 2000 , 2002 and 2004 and the European Team Championships in 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003, in part. At the European Team Championship in 1997 he achieved the third best result on the top board and the second best rating of all participants, two years later the second best result on the top board and the third best rating of all participants. He also continued his successes in international tournaments: Asti 1996, Reggio nell'Emilia 1996/1997, Buenos Aires 1998, Cutro 1999, Shanghai 2000, Barlinek 2001, Kavala 2001, Bad Wiessee 2001, Wijk aan Zee -B 2002, Budapest 2004 , Vlissingen 2006, Copenhagen 2007, Vlissingen 2009 and Stockholm (Rilton Cup) 2012/13.

In the German Federal Chess League he played in the 1992/93 season for VfL Sindelfingen , from 1997 to 1999 for SG Bochum 31 and from 2002 to 2007 for OSC Baden-Baden (until 2004 SC Baden-Oos, since 2008 OSG Baden- Baden), with which he won the German team championship in 2007 . Krasenkow has been playing for SF Deizisau since the 2016/17 season , initially in the 2nd Bundesliga and since 2017 in the 1st Bundesliga. In Poland he played for KSz Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski until 1998 , with whom he was Polish team champion in 1991 , 1993 , 1994 , 1995 , 1997 and 1998 , then until 2009 for KSz Polonia Warszawa , with whom he was 1999 , 2000 , 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 and 2009 Polish team champion and since then again for KSz Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski . 1990 won Krasenkow with the SK Petrosyan Moscow , the Soviet team championship . In the British Four Nations Chess League he played in the 2005/06 season for Guildford A&DC , in the Spanish team championship from 2004 to 2011 for CA Reverté Albox . In the French team championship Krasenkow played in the 2005/06 season for CMEC Monaco , since the 2008/09 season he has played for L'Echiquier Chalonnais , with whom he was French team champion in 2010 . In the Austrian Bundesliga , Krasenkow played for LA Kraftanlage Ottakring in the 2015/16 season . Between 1990 and 2008 Krasenkow took part in the European Club Cup twelve times . He won the competition in 1997 with Ladia Azov , achieved second place in 2001, 2003 and 2005 with KSz Polonia Warszawa and 2008 with OSC Baden-Baden , in 2002 with KSz Polonia Warszawa third place and in 1990 reached the semifinals with SK Petrosjan Moscow . In 2005, he achieved the second best result on the third board in the individual ranking.

At times he also worked as a chess consultant for the Rybka team. In 2012 he was awarded the title of FIDE Senior Trainer. He published some significant opening theory papers.

Krasenkow is married to Ilena Krasenkowa , who holds the title of International Master of Women.
