Marcin Tazbir (born August 22, 1988 in Piotrków Trybunalski ) is a Polish chess player who holds the title of Grand Master (GM) .

Career

Tazbir achieved the title of International Master (IM) in 2008 and the title of Grand Master (GM) in 2013.

Tazbir is visually impaired, so that, as a member of the International Braille Chess Association , which supports the blind in the sport of chess, he has already participated in several tournaments for disabled chess players. In October 2017, Tazbir won the 3rd World Cup for the disabled with six points from seven games, relegating the tied German Oliver Müller to second place thanks to the better second ranking.

In 2013 Tazbir took part in the third team for Poland at the European Team Chess Championship in Warsaw . There he achieved a result of 2.5 points from eight games.

Marcin Tazbir is also active in the German Chess League. Since the 2010/2011 season , Tazbir has been playing regularly in the top German division. In the 2010/2011 season he joined SV Griesheim and achieved a result of four points from 13 games. The Pole moved to Wiesbadener SV in the following season, but returned to Griesheim for the 2012/2013 season , where he was under contract until the club was relegated in the 2016/17 season . In the Polish Ekstraliga , Tazbir played for SS Polfa Grodzisk Mazowiecki from 2004 to 2007 , in 2008 for PTSz Płock , 2009 for BKS Prokonex Brzeg , 2010 for Polonia Warsaw , 2017 for LKS Wrzos Międzyborów and 2018 for VOTUM SA POLONIA Wrocław . In the Czech extra league he played for Tatran Litovel from 2010 to 2014 , from 2014 to 2016 for Mahrla Prague , in the 2016/17 season for AD Jičín and in the 2017/18 season for Moravská Slavia Brno , in the Slovak extra league since 2015 for TJ INBEST Dunajov , with whom he became champion in 2019 .
