Kamil Mitoń (born April 12, 1984 in Krakow ) is a Polish chess master .

Life

Mitoń learned to play chess at the age of five. He was U12 youth world champion in Cala Galdana in 1996 , a year later he finished second in Cannes behind Sergei Grigorjanz in the U14 world championship. Mitoń won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place at the Open in Poznan in 1995, I-III. Place at the World Open in Philadelphia 2002, 1st place at the World Open in Philadelphia 2005, II.-III. Place at the Grundfos Young Masters in Aarhus 2005, 1st place at the 17th Elgoibar tournament in Gipuzkoa 2007 and 1st place at the tournament in Skanderborg 2010. At the Junior World Championships 2000 in Yerevan he came second behind Lázaro Bruzón . He received the title of International Master in 1998 and has been a Grand Master since 2002.

National team

Mitoń took part with the Polish team in the Chess Olympiads in 2002 , 2004 , 2008 and 2010 and in the European Team Championships in 2007, 2011 and 2013.

In the Polish team championship in 2000 Mitoń played for WKSz Hetman Wrocław , in 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006 for PTSz Płock , with whom he also took part in the European Club Cup in 2001, and in 2003 and 2004 for GKSz Grodzisk Mazowiecki , with whom he also played at the European Club in 2003 Cup, since 2007 he has been playing for KSz HetMaN Szopienice (since 2015 WASKO HETMAN Katowice), with whom he was Polish team champion in 2007 , 2008 , 2010 , 2013 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 , 2018 and 2019 . In France he played for the Marseille Echecs team from 2007 to 2013 , with whom he became French team champion in 2011 , and has played for Bois-Colombes since the 2014/15 season . In the Russian team championship he played for Meriya Moscow - Ulan-Ude in 2006 , for Shatar Buryatia in 2007 and 2008 , and in the Czech extra league he has played for ŠK H. Fuchs Ostrava since the 2009/10 season . In the German Federal Chess League he played for SC Hansa Dortmund in the 2011/12 season, and has played for Hamburg SK since the 2015/16 season . In the 2014/15 season he played at DJK Aufwärts St. Josef Aachen in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the British Four Nations Chess League he played in the 2005/06 season for the Hilsmark Kingfisher , in the Danish Skakligaen in the 2011/12 season for the Nordea Skb team and in the Belgian Interclubs in the 2003/04 season for Boey Temse . Mitoń has been playing for TJ INBEST Dunajov's team in the Slovakian extra league since 2012 and became champions with them in 2019 . In 2007 Mitoń played in the Spanish team championship for CA La Caja Las Palmas .
