Skakligaen
The Skakligaen is the top division in Danish team chess . This consists of 10 teams; The game is played on 8 boards.
Organizational form
The 10 participating teams play a simple round-robin tournament , the final placement is determined first by the number of board points (one point for a winning game, half a point for a drawing game, no point for a losing game), then the number of team points (two points for a win , one point for a tie, no point for a loss). If there is still a tie, the better result on the first board decides, if there is another tie, the better result on the second board, etc. If the results are the same on all boards, the decision is made by lot. The last two move up to the 1st divisionand will be replaced by the winners of the two seasons of the 1st division. A team may use a maximum of two foreigners per competition, but foreigners who have their permanent residence in Denmark (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland ) or in southern Schleswig are not subject to this restriction. The cooling-off time is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and 30 minutes until the end of the game; From the first move on, each player also receives a time credit of 30 seconds per move until the end of the game.
history
The Skaligaen was introduced for the 2004/05 season as the successor to the top division to date, the 1st division . When the Skakligaen was founded, 8 teams belonged to it; for the 2005/06 season these were expanded to 10 teams. Since the 2008/09 season it has been called XtraCon Skakligaen .
