Skakligaen 2016/17
The Skakligaen 2016/17 was the twelfth season of the Skakligaen and at the same time the 55th edition of the Danish team championship in chess .
The Charlottenlunder club Philidor successfully defended its title, but withdrew its team after the season. The SK 1968 Århus and the Skakklubben K41 were promoted from the 1st division in the previous year . While Århus achieved relegation, K41 had to relegate immediately. The Hillerød Skakklub would also have been relegated from a purely sporting point of view , but this remained in the class after Philidor withdrew.

Game dates
The competitions were held on October 29 and 30, November 20, 2016, January 7, 8 and 29, February 26, and March 18 and 19, 2017, with a third round competition due to the overlap with the Senior World Championship was only played on January 22, 2017. In the first two rounds three competitions were held in Græsted and two in Aarhus , in the fourth and fifth round three competitions were played in Copenhagen and two each in Aarhus, the last two rounds were held centrally in Skanderborg . The competitions of the third, sixth and seventh round were played decentrally at the participating clubs.
