Four Nations Chess League 2005/06

The 2005/06 season was the 13th season of the Four Nations Chess League (4NCL).

The defending champion Wood Green and Guildford A&DC only tied in the first ten rounds, so the decision was only made in a direct comparison in the last round. The 4: 4 was enough for Wood Green to successfully defend the title by one board point.

The Slough Sharks , Hilsmark Kingfisher and the second team of the Barbican Chess Club had risen from Division 2 . While Slough and Hilsmark reached relegation, Barbicans second team had to relegate directly. In purely sporting terms, The ADs and 3Cs Oldham (in the previous year still at the start as Numerica 3 CS ) would have been relegated, but on the one hand Wood Green withdrew its second team and on the other hand Wood Green's third team, which was not eligible for promotion, had taken second place in Division 2 , The ADs and Oldham remained in Division 1. Dates and venues

The competitions took place on October 22nd and 23rd, November 19th and 20th, 2005, January 14th and 15th, March 4th and 5th, April 29th and 30th and May 1st, 2006. All rounds became central aligned in Birmingham .
