Four Nations Chess League 2017/18

The Four Nations Chess League 2017/18 was the 25th season of the Four Nations Chess League (4NCL).

The defending champion Guildford A&DC prevailed again without losing points. In the previous year, Alba, The ADs , Spirit of Atticus and Cambridge University had risen. Alba was the only newcomer to be relegated , while The ADs, Spirit of Atticus and Cambridge together with the second team of the Barbican Chess Club had to relegate directly.

Game dates

The competitions took place on November 11th and 12th, 2017, January 13th and 14th, February 10th and 11th, March 17th and 18th and from May 5th to 7th, 2018. The first two and the last three Rounds were held in Telford , Rounds 3 and 4 in Solihull , Rounds 5 and 6 in Northampton and Rounds 7 and 8 in Wokefield .

While the first and last three places were already taken after six rounds, the decision about the last starting place in the championship pool was not made until the final round.
