Gilles Anthony Afoumba (born January 14, 1996 ) is a Congolese sprinter .

Athletic career

Gilles Anthony Afoumba gained his first experience at international championships in 2014 at the African Championships in Marrakech , where he was eliminated in the 200-meter run with 21.55 s in the first round and over 400 meters to the semifinals and there with 47.09 s eliminated. The following year he won the bronze medal at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa over 200 meters in 21.59 s and finished sixth over 400 meters in 47.77 s. He then took part for the first time in the African Games in Brazzaville , where he was eliminated in the semi-finals over 200 meters with 21.26 seconds, while he was with the Congolese 4-by-100 and 4-by-400-meter relay with 40, 82 s and 3: 13.16 min were eliminated in advance. In 2016 he reached the semi-finals at the African Championships in Durban over 400 meters, in which he was eliminated with 47.62 s, while he was eliminated over 200 meters with 21.76 s in the first round. In 2019 he again took part in the Africa Games in Rabat , where he finished fourth over 400 meters in 45.96 s.
