Joanna Dworakowska (born October 21, 1978 in Warsaw ) is a Polish chess player .

Chess career

Dworakowa's chess career began in 1993 when she won the Polish Junior Championship. In the same year she reached the final of the Polish Women's Championship for the first time. Dworakowska won the Polish Women's Championship three times (1997, 1998, 2001), was second in 1995, 2000 and 2003 and third in 2006. She was also successful in blitz chess on a national level three times, in 1997, 2002 and 2007. She received the titles of International Women's Master (WIM), Women's Grand Master (WGM) and International Master (IM) from the World Chess Federation FIDE . With her highest rating of 2,445, she was in April 2002 in 24th place in the FIDE women's rankings. After the 2013 European Women's Team Championship, Dworakowska did not play an Elo-rated game and is therefore listed as inactive by FIDE (as of January 2015).

Dworakowska played between 1996 and 2010 at six Chess Olympiads with the Polish women's selection, where she won the bronze medal at the 35th Chess Olympiad in Bled in 2002 . She participated in the team's World Cup Women 2009 in Ningbo part and was one of six team European championships from 1999 to 2013 to the Polish women's team (2013 in the third team). In 2005 the gold medal jumped out in Gothenburg , two years later the silver medal in Heraklion , in 2009 in Novi Sad Joanna Dworakowska achieved the second best individual result on the fourth board.

Dworakowska played in the Polish team championship in 1995 for KS Maraton Warsaw , 1996 and 1997 for LKS ZPD Jasień , 2000, 2001, 2010 and 2011 for KSz Polonia Warsaw , 2002 for PTSz Płock and from 2006 to 2008 for KSz HetMaN Szopienice . She won the team championship in 2000 , 2001 , 2007 , 2008 and 2011 , and in 2007 and 2008 she also achieved the best individual result on the women's board. In the German women's league Dworakowska played from 1997 to 2005 at Hamburger SK , from 2005 to 2008 at Weiß-Blau Allianz Leipzig , in the 2008/09 season at USV TU Dresden and in the 2010/11 season at SK Großlehna . She played in the British Four Nations Chess League from 2002 to 2004 at betsson.com .
