MLB Draft
 <2019

The MLB Draft 2020 took place on June 10th and 11th, 2020. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to the MLB teams. The draft order was opposite to the regular season placements of the 2019 MLB season , so that the worst team, the Detroit Tigers , had the first choice (pick). The Houston Astros were not allowed to participate in the draft in the first and second round due to the so-called sign stealing scandal.

The first day of the draft was broadcast on the MLB Network. The second day of the draft was broadcast on MLB.com. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States , the draft was held virtually rather than on-site in Omaha , Nebraska , as planned .

The Tigers' first player to choose third baseman Spencer Torkelson from Arizona State .
