The MLB Draft 2018 , the Entry Draft of Major League Baseball , took place from June 4-6, 2018. The Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants were the worst teams of the preseason with identical results , so the first choice ( pick ) went to the worse team of the 2016 season , the Tigers. With their choice, they decided in favor of the pitcher Casey Mize .
