The MLB Draft 2018 , the Entry Draft of Major League Baseball , took place from June 4-6, 2018. The Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants were the worst teams of the preseason with identical results , so the first choice ( pick ) went to the worse team of the 2016 season , the Tigers. With their choice, they decided in favor of the pitcher Casey Mize .

First round picks

In the first 40 draft rounds, the 30 teams chosen most often for Pitcher (11). Two talents each came from the University of Florida and Oregon State . As the first of the players drafted in 2018, the shortstop Nico Hoerner, selected by the Chicago Cubs , was used in the MLB.
