MLB Draft 2015

Dansby Swanson, the first pick in the 2015 draft

The 2015 MLB Draft , the Entry Draft of Major League Baseball , took place June 8-10, 2015. The draft order was opposite to the rankings of the 2014 MLB season , so that the worst team of the previous year, the Arizona Diamondbacks , had the first choice (pick). Since there was no signing of a contract between the Houston Astros and the No. 1 pick of the MLB Draft 2014 Brady Aiken due to doubts about his health situation, the Astros were awarded the second pick of the first round to compensate.

The US shortstop Dansby Swanson was chosen in position 1 of the draft. The first non-US-American to be drafted was Canadian first baseman Josh Naylor in 12th position. The first non-US or Canadian draft pick was Jode Espada from Puerto Rico in round 5 as the 152nd player.
