MLB Draft 2014

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2014 MLB Draft , the Entry Draft of Major League Baseball , took place June 5-6, 2014. The draft order was reversed to the rankings of the 2013 MLB season , so that the worst team of the previous year, the Houston Astros , had the first choice (pick). The Astros chose Brady Aiken , but there was no signing of a contract with the Astros due to doubts about his health situation. Aiken then played another year at college and was represented again in the 2015 MLB Draft .

Kansas City Royals first-round pick Brandon Finnegan became the first of the 2014 players to make his MLB debut. Finnegan made his debut as a relief pitcher on September 6, 2014, 93 days after the draft.
