Mt. Veeder AVA (or Mount Veeder American Viticultural Area, recognized since December 13, 1993) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California and is part of the national Napa Valley AVA . Much of the vineyards are at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains . Due to the steepness of the terrain, the vineyards are more sunny and the soil is well drained. Due to the soil of volcanic origin, the temperature difference between day and night is still high enough to produce good quality wines.
