Stewart G. Haslinger (born November 25, 1981 in Ainsdale , Sefton ) is an English chess master .
Career
Haslinger won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2nd – 5th. Place at the British championship in Douglas 2005, 2nd place behind Marat Dzhumaev at the South Wales International in Caerleon (2007) with Haslinger's third grandmaster norm, 1st – 4th place. Place at the Open in Benidorm (2008), 1st – 2nd Place at the South Wales International in Pontypridd (2009), 1st – 3rd Place at the Essent Open in Hoogeveen (2008), 1st place at the Open in Palma (2008), 1st – 4th place. Place at the Open in Hilversum (2009) and 1st place at the Unive Open in Hoogeveen (2009).
At the FIDE Congress in Chalkidiki in 2003 he was awarded the title of International Master . By this time he had already met four standards, namely in July 1999 at the Young Masters in Somerset , in July 2002 at the British Individual Championship in Torquay , in the Four Nations Chess League 2002/03 and in August 2003 at the Hilton Premier International in Blackpool . The Grand Master title was awarded to Haslinger on the 3rd quarter FIDE Presidential Board in September 2007 in Mexico City with the proviso that he achieved an Elo rating of at least 2500. Haslinger already exceeded this limit in the next rating list in October 2007 and has since held the title of Grand Master. He had achieved the required standards in July 2002 at the British Individual Championship in Torquay, in the Four Nations Chess League 2006/07 and in July 2007 at the South Wales International tournament in Caerleon .
Stewart Haslinger comes from a chess family. His sister Cathy, for example, won the U14 World Championship for Women in 1987 in San Juan , Puerto Rico .
Club chess

In the British Four Nations Chess League , Haslinger played in the first team of the Barbican Chess Club in the 1998/99 season, for Perceptron Youth in the 2002/03 season, for the North West Eagles in the 2004/05 season , from 2005 to 2007 at 3Cs Oldham , in the 2009/10 season in Pride and Prejudice and in the 2012/13 season in Cheddleton .
Since 2009 he has been playing in the German Chess League for SG Trier .
