The Bentley Mark V was the second Bentley model manufactured by Rolls-Royce .
The presentation took place in the war year 1939. The engine used was the new 4.3-liter engine (4257 cm³ / 259 in³), which was also used in the Rolls-Royce Wraith . 11 chassis were built from the basic Mark V model (and 4 unfinished).
A sporty and optimized version was planned under the model name Corniche and quickly discarded when the war broke out. The design of the Bentley Corniche was created by Georges Paulin and implemented at the French coachbuilder Vanvooren near Paris . A finished prototype and 3 unfinished chassis were created. Later the model name was used for the Rolls-Royce Corniche .
