Ramat Aviv is a northwestern part of District I in Tel Aviv , north of the Jarkon River . Ramat Aviv is made up of the districts of Ramat Aviv Aleph , Neve Avivim and the parts of Ramat Aviv Gimmel and Ramat Aviv Hachadascha , which were created in the 1980s and 1990s .

Before the Arab-Israeli War of 1948 there was the Arab village of al-Sheikh Muannes ( Arabic الشيخ مؤنس) on parts of what is now Ramat Aviv. Tel Aviv University was built on the former ground of the village. The last remaining house now houses the clubhouse and the university cafeteria . In the 1950s , many Eastern European Jews immigrated to this district. Today Ramat Aviv is one of the upscale districts of Tel Aviv.
