Štěpán Žilka (born November 11, 1988 in Litovel ) is a Czech chess grandmaster .

Žilka was awarded the title of International Master by FIDE in 2007, he achieved the required standards in April 2007 at the Radegast Cup in Frýdek-Místek , in July 2007 at Tespo Engineering in Brno and in August 2007 at a tournament in Mladá Boleslav . In 2014 he was appointed grandmaster, Žilka fulfilled the required standards in August 2011 at a grandmaster tournament in Olomouc and in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons of the East relay of the 2nd Austrian Bundesliga .

In 2009 he won the Olomuc Chess Summer (C-Tournament) and left Konstantin Tschernyschow behind, among others .
National team
In 2008, 2010–2011, 2013–2014 and 2016–2017, he took part in the Mitropa Cup with the Czech team , won it in 2016 and received a gold medal on the fourth board in 2017. In 2019 he and his team were runner-up at the Mitropapokal in Radenci .

In the Czech extra league, Žilka played for TJ Tatran Litovel in the 2002/03, 2007/08, 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons, for A64 Valoz Grygov in the 2006/07 season, and for BŠŠ Frýdek in the 2008/09 season. Místek; since 2012 he has been playing for the 1st Novoborský ŠK, with whom he became Czech team champion in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . In the Slovakian Extra League, Žilka played for ŠK Zentiva Hlohovec in the 2007/08 season, and has played for ŠK Prakovce since 2018 . In the German Bundesliga he played for SF Deizisau in the 2017/18 season , in the Austrian Bundesliga in the 2016/17 season for Blackburne Nickelsdorf and in the Polish Ekstraliga 2020 for Wieża Pęgów .
