Radenci ( German : Bad Radein ) is a village and municipality in northeastern Slovenia . It is located in the historical Spodnja Štajerska ( Lower Styria ) region, but is now part of the Pomurska statistical region .

Radenci is located on the eastern edge of the Slovenske gorice ( Windische Bühel ) in the Prlekija small region on the right bank of the Mur ( Mura ). On this side of the river there is a small plain called Radensko polje ( Radeiner Feld ), which turns to the south-west into the hilly Slovenske gorice in the municipality.
Community structure
The municipality comprises 22 localities. The German exonyms in brackets were mainly used by the German-speaking population until the area was ceded to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1918 and are largely uncommon today. (Population figures as of January 1, 2017):

Thermal springs
The place is known for its thermal baths . Karel Henn, a student and later a doctor, discovered the first springs in 1833. The spa business began in 1882 with the first guests. The Radenci thermal baths became a popular health spa. In 1988 the new spring was discovered and tapped, the bath was expanded and modernized.
The mineral and medicinal water , which is known under the brand name Radenska , is exported to over 30 countries . The first bottles were filled as early as 1869. This water was even drunk at the Viennese court and in the Vatican.
