Dobrovnik ( Hungarian Dobronak ; German: Dobronack ) is a municipality in the Prekmurje region in Slovenia .

Location and inhabitants

The village of Dobrovnik is located on the border with Hungary in the extreme northeast of the country in a wine-growing region in Goričko , which is part of the historical Prekmurje region .

The municipality consists of the three localities Dobrovnik, Strehovci and Žitkovci. They merged in 1998. Around 1380 people live in the municipality, 933 of them in the main town of Dobrovnik alone.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1270. However, settled much earlier, as evidence shows.

The entire municipality belongs to the three-country park Raab-Goričko-Örseg .
