Moravske Toplice (Hungarian Alsómarác, dt. Moratz , also Toplitz ) is a municipality and a village in the historic Prekmurje region in Slovenia .

geography

The municipality receives the southeastern part of the country of hills and grave Goricko and claimed with the southern municipality already large parts of the of Ledava and Mur formed plains of Ravensko and Dolinsko . Attractions

Moravske Toplice, which has 719 inhabitants, is known for its thermal water . When drilling for crude oil south of Moravci in 1960, water with a temperature of 72 ° C was encountered at a depth of 1,417 m instead of the hoped-for oil. The villagers recognized the effects of the water and reacted promptly. In 1962 they built a simple pool. The history of the thermal bath began. Today, the “Terme 3000” is a modern bathroom in Moravske Toplice.

The church “White Dove” by the famous architect Jože Plečnik is located in the Bogojina part of the municipality . The place Filovci is known for its pottery.
