The thermal and volcanic region of Styria is one of the nine tourism regions of Styria . The largest city in the region is Fürstenfeld , where the association is also based.

development

The regional association "Steirisches Thermenland" was originally a marketing community of the three thermal baths Bad Radkersburg , Bad Gleichenberg and Bad Loipersdorf . Later it was supplemented by Bad Waltersdorf , Bad Blumau has been a member since May 1997, and the H2O Therme in Sebersdorf since May 2006 . The Styrian Thermenland has been a tourism region within the meaning of the Styrian Tourism Act since 1995. The regional association is financed through tourism taxes, municipalities, thermal baths, hotels and public subsidies.

The association's task is to internationalize the region with a focus on overnight guests. Day visitors are not part of the regional association's business area. The regional association serves as a steering instrument. Since January 2011, Thermenland Steiermark Marketing GmbH, whose company was changed to Thermenland Süd- & Oststeiermark Marketing GmbH , has been responsible for the operational implementation .

In 2017 the tourism regions "Steirisches Thermenland" and " Steirisches Vulkanland " merged. Since April 2018, the regional tourism association has been operating under the new brand "Thermen- & Vulkanland Steiermark".
