Extraliga (Czech Republic, chess) 2002/03

The Extraliga 2002/03 was the eleventh season of the Czech Extraliga in chess .

Participating teams

For the Extraliga had with ŠK Hagemann Opava , ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad VISUS , TJ TŽ Třinec , SK ZČE Plzeň , ŠK Trinom Zlín , ŠK Infinity Pardubice , ŠK Jäkl Karviná , ŠK Mahrla Prague , ŠK Dům armády Prague and SC A64 Lázně Slatinice the ten first placed of the 2001/02 season qualified, in addition, the ŠK Polabí Sokol Kolín rose as the winner of the 1st česká liga 2001/02 and the TJ Tatran Litovel as the winner of the 1st moravskoslezská liga 2001/02.

mode

The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament , first the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat) decided on the placements, then the board points (1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss).

Game dates

The competitions took place on October 12 and 13, November 30 and December 1, 2002, January 18, February 15 and 16, March 15 and 16, and April 12 and 13, 2003.

Season course

TJ TŽ Třinec , ŠK Hagemann-Slezan Opava and ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad - VISUS fought a three-way battle for the title, which Třinec won only in the last round. TJ Tatran Litovel was prematurely relegated, while the decision about the second relegated was only made in the last round against ŠK Dům armády Prague .
