Extraliga (Czech Republic, chess) 1999/2000

The 1999/2000 Extraliga was the eighth season of the Czech Extraliga in chess .

Participating teams

For the Extraliga, the ten were ŠK Dům armády Prague , ŠK Infinity Pardubice , ŠK H.Fuchs Ostrava , TJ Nová Huť Ostrava , A64 MILO Olomouc , ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad , Sokol Kolín , ŠK Zlín , ŠK DP Mladí Prague and TJ TŽ Třinec Qualified first place in the 1998/99 season, SK ZČE Plzeň were promoted as the winner of the 1st česká liga 1998/99 and TJ Jäkl Karviná as the winner of the 1st moravskoslezská liga 1998/99.

The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament , first the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat) decided on the placements, then the board points (1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss).

Game dates

The competitions took place on October 23 and 24, November 20 and 21 and December 18, 1999, January 15 and 16, February 5 and 6, and March 18 and 19, 2000.

Season course

ŠK Infinity Pardubice and SC A64 Lázně Slatinice (formerly A64 MILO Olomouc ) fought a duel for the title, which was only decided in the last round in favor of the Pardubice. In the relegation battle, ŠK H. Fuchs Ostrava was already determined to be relegated before the last round, while it was only in the last round that it was decided that TJ Jäkl Karviná would be the second relegated.
