Slavko Cicak (born October 25, 1969 in Titograd ) is a Swedish chess player . He has held the title of grandmaster since 2001 .

Life

In 1985 he finished second at the U18 youth world championship in Petach Tikwa . In 1995 he won the B group of the round-robin tournament in Brno , and in 1997 the 1st Karl Mala memorial tournament with seven points from seven games in Frankfurt-Griesheim . In 1998 he won the Opens in Frankfurt am Main and Wiesbaden and in 2001 he won the Liechtenstein Open in Triesen . In 2004 he won the 5th Miguel Mas International Open in Figueres by 1.5 points and the 8th Parla International Open in Parla . At two other tournaments, the 9th Open Internacional Málaga de Ajedrez 2006 in Campillos and the Utrecht Open International Championship 2007 in Utrecht , Cicak took first place.

In January 2015 he is ninth in the Swedish Elo ranking. On the ICC server it plays under the name Sauerkraut .

National team

With the Swedish national team, Cicak took part in the 2006 , 2008 and 2010 Chess Olympiads and the 2007 European Team Championship. He also played at the Aigo Cup in the international match against the People's Republic of China in Beijing in 2006 on the fourth of five boards.

He played team chess in club teams in the Czech extra league for the team of TJ TŽ Třinec , with whom he became Czech team champion in 2003 and took part in the European Club Cup in the same year , as well as the ŠK H. Fuchs Ostrava . In Germany he played for the SK Heidelberg in the German Chess League from 1987 to 1991 , later for the VSGO Offenbach , for the TSV Schott Mainz in the Chess League , then again for the VSGO Offenbach , then for the Schachfreunde Schöneck , in between, for example in the 2007/08 season, for the Lower Franconian club Schachfreunde Burgsinn , with whom he became Bavarian Blitzmannschaftsmeister in 2008 with the best result on the top board, and then again for the Schachfreunde Schöneck . He has been playing for Schott Mainz again since the 2011/12 season . He also plays in the Luxembourg 1st league, which he won in 2007 , 2010 , 2012 and 2014 with Cercle d'échecs Dudelange . In Sweden he played for the Skara SS until 2009 , then for the Eksjö SK until 2013 ; since then he has played for the Stockholm club Kungstornet , with whom he is represented in the Elitserien in the 2014/15 season .
