Axel Ragnar Smith (born June 27, 1986 in Ystad ) is a Swedish chess player .
He played for Sweden at two Chess Olympiads : 2012 and 2016 .
In Sweden he played in the Elitserien for Lunds ASK since the 2004/05 season and became Swedish team champion in 2011 and 2019 . In Denmark he played in the Skakligaen for the Skakklubben K41 and the team Xtracon Køge , with whom he became Danish team champion in 2019 , in Norway for the Kristiansund SK and in France for the Club de Montpellier Echecs and the Club de Mulhouse Philidor . In Germany, Smith has occasionally played for Greifswalder SV in the Oberliga Nord Ost since 2007 . Axel Smith is married to Ellinor Frisk , who holds the title of International Master of Women (WIM).
