Thomas Ernst (chess player)
Thomas Filip Rolf Ernst (born August 17, 1960 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish chess player .
He won the Swedish individual championship in 1993 in Lindesberg . He played for Sweden in three Chess Olympiads : 1984 , 1988 and 1992 . He also took part in the European team championships (1992).
Ernst won the Swedish team championship in 1983 with Limhamns SK , 1991 with Wasa SK , 2002 , 2003 , 2006 and 2007 with Sollentuna SK and in 2010 with SK Team Viking . Since 2013 he has played with Farsta SK in the Elitserien , he has also played for the Gothenburg club SK Kamraterna .
In 1984 he became International Master , and since 1990 he has held the title of Grand Master . His highest rating was 2570 in July 1992.
Thomas Ernst has a doctorate in maths.
