Elitserien (chess) 1990/91
The 1990/91 season was the fourth season of the Elitserien . The defending champion Wasa SK and SK Rockaden Stockholm fought head-to-head for the title, which Wasa SK again narrowly won. Due to the increase in the Elitserien to 10 teams with the Schacksällskapet Manhem , the Limhamns SK , the Solna Schacksällskap and the SK Passanten, four clubs were promoted from Division I. While Manhem, Limhamn and Solna achieved relegation, the SK Passanten had to relegate together with the Lunds ASK . A curiosity was the fact that Thomas Ernst initially competed for SK Kamraterna and later for Wasa SK during the season .
Events
The competitions took place on October 7th and 28th, November 11th, December 9th 1990, January 13th, and February 3rd, 22nd, 23rd and 24th 1991. The last three rounds were played centrally in Gothenburg .
