Jonas Barkhagen

Jonas Patrik Theodor Barkhagen (born August 15, 1974 ) is a Swedish chess player .

In 1989 he won the Swedish Junior Championship (U20) in Sundsvall . In 1993 he won the open Swedish individual championship in Malmö . In 1994 he received the title of International Master . At the Swedish individual championship in 2000 in Örebro he finished third, tied behind the winner Tom Wedberg and the runner-up Pia Cramling . His greatest chess success is winning the Rilton Cup 2002/03 in Stockholm with 7.5 points from 9 games ahead of Artur Jussupow , Tom Wedberg and Tomi Nybäck . Jonas Barkhagen won against the chess grandmasters Joseph Gallagher , Sergei Iwanow and Michail Ulybin and achieved a standard for achieving the grandmaster title.

For the Swedish national team, he played on the fourth board at the 2003 European Championship in Plovdiv .

Jonas Barkhagen took part in the European Club Cups in 1992, 1993, 1996, 2000 and 2005 - 1992 in Solingen for Wasa SK Stockholm and in the other competitions for SK Rockaden Stockholm . He won the Swedish team championship with the Wasa SK in the seasons 1989/90 and 1990/91 and with the SK Rockaden Stockholm in the seasons 1992/93 , 1993/94 , 1994/95 , 1995/96 , 1996/97 , 1997 / 98 , 2000/01 , 2003/04 , 2004/05 , 2007/08 , 2008/09 , 2013/14 and 2015/16 . In the 1980s he also played team chess in Denmark.

Its Elo rating is 2433 (as of July 2020), its highest to date was 2490 from April to September 2003.
