Jay Corre

Jay Corre (* 30th November 1924 ; † 26. October 2014 ) was an American jazz - woodwinds ( tenor saxophone , clarinet , flute ) and arranger .

Corre took part in big band and ensemble recordings in Los Angeles from the late 1950s . a. by Claude Gordon, Herbie Harper , Jack Constanzo ( Latin Fever , 1958) and Harry James ( Harry James ... Today , 1960). In the 1960s he played in the big band of Buddy Rich to listen to albums of Buddy Rich Big Band as Swingin 'New Big Band , Big Swing Face and The New One! . He worked there even when shooting at Sammy Davis Jr. with. As a soloist he was with Rich in titles likeCritic's Choice, New Blues, Up Tight and Willowcrest and arranged tracks like Lament for Lester . In 1967 he performed with Rich at the Newport Jazz Festival . In 1978 he was a member of the Chubby Jackson All-Star Big Band. In the early 1980s he recorded the album The Earth Is But One Country, And Mankind Its Citizens in Atlantic City with his own band (including with Freddy Cole ) . In the field of jazz he was involved in 33 recording sessions between 1956 and 2002. a. also with Ella Fitzgerald , Oscar Peterson and Dave Brubeck .
