Vladislav Tkachiev (German transcription Wladislaw Tkachiev ; Russian Владислав Ткачёв / Wladislaw Tkachiev , born November 9, 1973 in Moscow ) is a French chess master of Russian-Kazakh origin.

Life

Tkachiev was born in Moscow, but moved with his parents to Kazakhstan in 1982 , where he learned the rules of chess at the age of 9 (on vacation in Kyrgyzstan ). In 1985 he won the youth championship of Kazakhstan. In 1992 he represented Kazakhstan for the first time at the Chess Olympiad . In 1993 he became international master , 1995 grand master . In 1996 he moved to Cannes after finishing third in an Open tournament and asking the organizers if he could stay. Since then, Tkachiev has played in the French chess league and also represents France internationally. His major tournament victories include successes in Oakham 1993, Cannes 1996 and 1999, Isle of Man 1996 and Makarska 1997.

In 1999 he won competitions in Cannes against Alberto David 6: 2 (+4 = 4 −0) and John van der Wiel 7: 3 (+5 = 4 −1). In 2000 he played 4: 4 (+2 = 4 −2) against Jeroen Piket in Cannes . In 2006 he became French champion for the first time in Besançon after a playoff in rapid chess against Laurent Fressinet (both scored 7.5 out of 11 in the tournament; Tkachiev won 1.5: 0.5 in the jump-off).

In April 2007, at his third European Championship participation , Tkachiev was European Champion in Dresden . After 11 rounds he, like six other players, had scored 8 points. He then won in the final of the rapid chess playoff match 2-0 against Emil Sutovsky . In August he came, together with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave , to first place at the French championship in Aix-les-Bains , but lost the playoff for the title. In October 2007 he was also able to win the European Lightning Championship, which was held in Ajaccio . In August 2009 he was again national champion in Nîmes .

In August 2016, he was in fourth place in the French Elo ranking.

Tkachiev participated in six Chess Olympiads , in 1992 and 1994 with Kazakhstan, in 2008 , 2010 , 2012 and 2014 with France. At the 2012 Chess Olympiad, he achieved the best result on the fourth board.

With Kazakhstan he also took part in the Asian team championships in 1993 and 1995, where he won both the team in 1993 and achieved the best result on the fourth board.

For France he played at the European Team Championships in 2007, 2013 and 2015, where he finished second with the team in 2013.
