Matthieu Cornette (born September 4, 1985 in Bègles ) is a French chess player .

He won the French individual championship in Agen in 2016 . He took part in the 2009 European team championship in Novi Sad .

In the French team championship Cornette played in the 2002/03 season for Union Saint Bruno-Bordeaux Echecs , from 2004 to 2008 for the Association Cannes-Echecs , in the 2008/09 season for L'Echiquier Chalonnais , from 2009 to 2011 for Echiquier Guingampais , in the 2011/12 season for Echiquier Deauvillais , from 2013 to 2018 for CE de Bois-Colombes and 2019 for Asnières - Le Grand Echiquier . In Germany he played for SK Schwäbisch Hall ( 2014/15 , 2015/16 , 2016/17 and 2017/18 ). In the British Four Nations Chess League , Cornette played for the Guildford A&DC team , with which he became champions in 2008, from 2007 to 2009 , and for the Celtic Tigers in the 2018/19 season . In Belgium Cornette plays for the team of L'Echiquier Mosan , with whom he (then still under the club name L'Echiquier Amaytois ) 2015 champion, in the Dutch Meesterklasse he entered the season 2018/19 for the Bussums Schaakgenootschap on.

He has been married to the Lithuanian chess player Deimantė Cornette (nee Daulytė) since 2016 .

In 2003 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 2008. Since 2016 he has held the title of FIDE trainer.
