Jean-Marc Degraeve (born January 26, 1971 in Tourcoing ) is a French chess master .

Life

Degraeve won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place at the tournament in Pau (1989), 1st place at the tournament in Belfort (1997), 1st – 2nd place. Place at the Open in L'Étang-Salé , Réunion (2001), 1st place at the tournament in Montreal (2002) and four times 1st place at the Open in Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010). Degraeve has held the title of Grand Master since 1998 .

National team

For the French national team he played at the Chess Olympiads in 2000 , 2002 and 2004 ; In the individual ranking of reserve players, he won the bronze medal at the 2004 Chess Olympiad in Calvià . Degraeve took part in the European Team Championships in 1997, 2001 and 2003, where he finished second with the French team in 2001 and was the best substitute in 2003. In 2000 Degraeve won the Mitropacup with the French team and was also the best individual player on the first board.

In Belgium he played from 2003 to 2005 with KSK Rochade Eupen-Kelmis and in the 2010/11 season with Cercle d'Échecs Fontainois .
