Igor-Alexandre Nataf (born May 2, 1978 in Paris ) is a French chess player .

He played for France at two Chess Olympiads : 2000 and 2004 . He also took part in the European team championship (1999) in Batumi .

At the FIDE World Cup 2000 he beat Emil Sutovsky in the first round , Nigel Short in the second and was eliminated in the third round against Rafael Leitão . At the FIDE World Cup in 2002 he defeated Viktor Bologan in the first round and failed to Konstantin Sakajew in the second round .

In Germany he played for TV Tegernsee ( 2001/02 ) and Schachfreunde Berlin ( 2004/05 to 2006/07 , 2008/09 ). In Austria he played for SK Fürstenfeld ( 2000/01 ).

In 1997 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 1998. Nataf also plays correspondence chess and has held the title of International Correspondence Chess Master since 2010 .
