Anatoli Wolfowitsch Waisser or (French) Anatoly Vaisser ( Russian Анатолий Вольфович Вайсер ; born March 5, 1949 in Alma-Ata ) is a French chess grandmaster of Soviet origin.

Since 1971, when he first took part in the semifinals of the USSR championship, he was one of the stronger Soviet champions. In 1977 he qualified for the finals of the USSR championship. He was awarded the title of International Master in 1982. He achieved his greatest success in 1983 when he took first place at the tournament in Sochi together with Yevgeny Svezhnikov . In 1985 he received the title of Grand Master. However, tournaments in Western Europe were denied to him until 1987. In the summer of 1988 in Berlin , he was split first with Bogdan Lalic and Juri Balaschow .

After the collapse of the Soviet Union , he emigrated to France. He became French champion in 1997 and finished second in 1996 and 2001. He represented France at the Chess Olympiads in Elista in 1998 and in Bled in 2002 . as well as at the European team championship 1997 The senior world championship he won 2010 in Arco , 2013 in Opatija , 2014 in Katerini and 2016 in Marienbad (2014 and 2016 in the age group 65+). In team fights he has played for Asnières - Le Grand Echiquier since 2019 , before he played for the Club de Echiquier Niçois until 2006 , in the 2006/07 season for the Club de La Tour Sarrazine Antibes and from 2007 to 2016 for the Cercle d'Echecs de Strasbourg . In the 1990s Waisser played for the Lyon-Oyonnax team , with whom he won the European Club Cup in 1993 and 1994 . In 1988 Waisser became Soviet team champion with the Novosibirsk Chess Club , and in 1990 he took part in the European Club Cup with them. In the Spanish team championship he played in 1996 for CA La Caja de Canarias . In Germany, Waisser has been playing for the Düsseldorf SK 1914/25 since 2018 , including in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season .

Waisser is known as an attacking player. He has written a book about one of his specialties, the four pawn attack in the King's Indian Defense .
