Deimantė Cornette (* 22 February 1989 as deimantė daulytė in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian chess player who since 2009 grandmaster of women (WGM) and since 2014 also international master 's (IM).

Life

Deimantė Daulytė learned to play chess from her father when she was seven years old. She attended the Dubysa Sports School in Šiauliai, where she was also promoted in chess. She received chess training from Renata Turauskienė , Gediminas Rastenis and Vaidas Sakalauskas, among others . In 2007 she graduated from the Julius Janonis Gymnasium Šiauliai . In 2011 she obtained a bachelor's degree from the Human Sciences Faculty of the University of Šiauliai . Since 2012 she has studied at the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius . She is married to the French grandmaster Matthieu Cornette .

Deimantė Daulytė was multiple medalist at the Lithuanian Youth Championships in various age groups, including gold in 2007, 2008 and 2009 (all in the class up to 20 years old). Again and again she represented the national colors at the European championships for girls. Her greatest success was in Herceg Novi in 2005 , when she won the bronze medal in the European Youth Championship U16. She won gold three times (2006, 2007, 2008) at the individual championships of the Lithuanian women.

With the Lithuanian women's team, she took part in the Chess Olympiad in 2006 , 2008 in Dresden , 2010 , 2012 , 2014 , 2016 and 2018 , achieving the third-best individual result on the second board in 2016. She also took part in the women's European team championships five times (2005, 2007, 2011 , 2013 and 2015) . In 2005 she won a silver medal in the individual ranking on board 4 in Gothenburg .

In 2006 she reached a third place behind Tatyana Grabusova and Tatyana Fomina in the women's competition of the Paul Keres memorial tournament in Tallinn . In 2006 Daulytė was named International Women's Champion (WIM), she met the necessary standards at the European Women's Team Championships in 2005, the 16th Chess Festival 2005/2006 in Krakow and in January 2006 at the Paul Keres Memorial Tournament Women's Competition in Tallinn. She met the standards for the WGM title in 2008 at an open tournament in Stockholm and at the 2008 Chess Olympiad in Dresden .

In August 2014 Daulytė was named International Champion after she won the 26th Open in Cappelle-la-Grande in February 2010, the 9th Open in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy in January 2013, and the European Women's Individual Championship in Belgrade in July 2013, at the European Women's Team Championships in November 2013 in Warsaw and at the 30th Open in Cappelle-la-Grande in March 2014 IM standards.

From the 2011/12 season to the 2013/14 season she played in the German Women's Chess League for SF 1891 Friedberg , and since the 2014/15 season she has played in this class for SK Schwäbisch Hall . In France, Daulytė played for Club d'Echecs d'Annemasse until 2014 , with which she won the French women's team championship in 2014 , then until 2016 for Montpellier Echecs and since 2017 for CEMC Monaco , with which she won the French women's team championship in 2019 . In Belgium she has been playing for L'Echiquier Amaytois since 2014 (since 2018 L'Echiquier Mosan ), with whom she won the 2015 Belgian team championship; at the European Club Cup women took 2008 ŠK Panevezys , 2013 MRU Vilnius Fortas and 2018 with the tournament winner Cercle d'Echecs de Monte Carlo in part. In the British Four Nations Chess League , Daulytė played in Division 2 in the 2015/16 season and in Division 1 (the top division) in the 2018/19 season for the Celtic Tigers team , and in the 2017 Chinese Team Championship for Chengdu and in the Spanish team championship 2018 for Ajoblanco Extremadura .

In March 2016, Deimantė Daulytė took second place behind Viktorija Čmilytė in the Lithuanian women's rating list and twelfth place in the overall Lithuanian ranking.
