Vaidas Sakalauskas
Vaidas Sakalauskas (born July 2, 1971 ) is a Lithuanian chess player and coach. He has held the title of International Master since 1998 .
Life
In 1994 Sakalauskas graduated from the Lithuanian University of Education (LEU) and became a history teacher. From 1994 to 2006 he was a youth and children's chess coach at the Radviliškis Sports Center .
For the Lithuanian national team he played at the Chess Olympiads in 1998 , 2000 , 2002 and 2004 , and in 2004 he received an individual gold medal for his result of 6 points from 7 games on the first reserve board. He was also part of the Lithuanian team at the European Team Championships in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2011 . In 2015, he played in the Polish Ekstraliga for the team from bezokularow.pl Chrobry Gniezno . His Elo number is 2383 (as of June 2015), his highest Elo number was in October 2005 with 2481.
