Salomėja Zaksaitė (spelling at the World Chess Federation FIDE Salomeja Zaksaite ; born July 25, 1985 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian chess player , sports criminal and criminologist .

Life

Her mother, Genovaitė Zaksienė (* 1946), who holds a doctorate in maths , is a retired lecturer in the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences at the Technical University of Kaunas . From 1991 to 1998 Zaksaitė attended “Anima” secondary school in Kaunas and from 1998 to 2003 the grammar school of Kaunas Technical University . After graduating from high school , she completed her master's degree in law from 2003 to 2008 with a specialization in criminology, and from 2008 to 2012 her doctorate at the Vilnius University Law Faculty . From 2009 to 2010, Zaksaitė was a council member of the VU Law Faculty, representing the student body . On January 27, 2012, she did her doctorate in criminal and sports law on the topic of dissemination and prevention problems of fraud in sports (lit. "Sukčiavimo sporto srityje paplitimas ir prevencijos problemos") with Anna Drakšienė.

Zaksaitė worked at the Lithuanian Law Research Institute for several years . From November 2006 she worked as an assistant, from 2008 a senior specialist, from 2009 as a researcher in the Department of Legal Systems Research and then as a research assistant in the Department of Criminal Justice . In the fall semester of 2012, Zaksaitė taught comparative criminal law in English at the European Humanities University . From April 2013 to March 2015 she did research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Mykolas Romeris University on the subject of “ Deception in sports: dissemination, prevention and legal assessment” (with funding from the Lithuanian Science Council ). Their supervisor was Alfredas Kiškis. In 2015 she published the corresponding monograph on the topic of her two-year research at the university.

Zaksaitė gave lectures in 2009 in Moscow , at the University of Oxford and in 2011 at the German Sport University Cologne on the topic of Recent tendencies in Lithuanian antidoping law . She continued her education in Denmark .

Zaksaitė is a member of the Lithuanian Criminologists Association.

Zaksaitė speaks English and Russian and has a basic knowledge of German.

Chess successes

In 2003 Zaksaitė received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). She achieved the norms for this in July 2002 at the Baltic women's championship in Panevėžys with over-fulfillment, in August 2002 at a tournament in Birštonas , also with over-fulfillment, and in July 2003 at the international Sosnicki Memorial in Świdnica, Poland . For the Lithuanian women's team, she played in the Chess Olympiads in 2002 , 2014 , 2016 and 2018 and at the European Team Championships 2005, 2007, 2011 , 2013, 2015 and 2017. In the Single European Championship Women 2015 Georgian Tschakwi won Zaksaitė against the Ukrainian chess player Anna Ushenina ( Elo 2467), former world chess champion from 2012 to 2013, and played a draw against the Russian chess player Yekaterina Kowalewskaja (Elo 2450), former vice world champion from 2004.

At the Lithuanian individual championship for women in 1999, 2013 and 2015 Zaksaitė took 2nd place, 2011 3rd place and 2014 and 2016 she won them.

Zaksaitė played club chess in Lithuania for ŠK Margiris Kaunas , with whom she took part in the Women's European Club Cup in 1999 , and MRU Vilnius Fortas , with whom she took part in the European Women's Club Cup in 2013, in Denmark for SK 1968 Århus , where she played in the Skakligaen in the 2009/10 season and in the British Four Nations Chess League in the 2016/17 season for Barbican .

Her first trainer was the correspondence chess grandmaster Gintautas Petraitis (* 1944). Your current trainer is the international master Vaidas Sakalauskas (* 1971).
