Tim Chappel

Tim P. Chappel (born December 15, 1967 in New South Wales , Australia ) is an Australian costume designer who, in addition to an Oscar for best costume design, won other film awards .

Life

For the costumes in his first film, the tragic comedy Priscilla - Queen of the Desert (1994) by Stephan Elliott with Terence Stamp , Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce , he and Lizzy Gardiner won both the Oscar for the best costumes and the prize for the 1995 best costumes from the Australian Film Institute ( AFI Award ) and the British Academy Film Award for best costumes . In the film, she also played a supporting role as a drag queen in a hair salon.

He and Lizzy Gardiner also designed the costumes for the film after Priscilla - Queen of the Desert 2006 resulting musical Priscilla - The Musical and won this included 2011 the Tony Award for best costumes in a musical .

Tim Chappel has worked on the costume design of around a dozen films and is currently working as a costume designer on the creation of the comedy drama Mental by PJ Hogan with Anthony LaPaglia , Liev Schreiber and Toni Collette, which is planned for 2012 .
